Meet Henry

From Banking Professional to Price Action Trader

I’m Henry, a semi‑retired professional with more than 20 years of experience in accounting and finance. Before moving to Canada, I worked for one of the largest banks in the Philippines, where I developed a deep understanding of numbers, structure, and financial systems.

But my journey into trading began long before I ever opened a chart.

📈 My First Steps Into Trading (1996–1998)

My interest in the stock market started in the late 90s. Back then, trading was done through a landline phone — no online platforms, no charting tools, and no real‑time data.

I relied on trader recommendations, often buying whatever stock was “hot.” I didn’t understand charts. I didn’t understand structure. I didn’t understand price behavior.

Looking back now, with the clarity of price action, I realize I was often buying at exhaustion points — entering when the move was already over.

Then came the 1998 financial crisis.

I was forced to exit my positions at a significant loss. It was a painful experience that put me in a financial dilemma and pushed me away from the markets for years.

But the spark never fully disappeared.

🍁 A New Chapter in Canada (2011)

When I migrated to Canada in 2011, my interest in trading resurfaced. This time, I approached it with discipline and curiosity. I enrolled in trading courses, but most focused heavily on indicators. They taught what to look at, but not why price behaves the way if does.

Something was missing.

🔍 Discovering Price Action

My trading journey eventually led me to price action — the pure interaction between buyers and sellers. No clutter. No lagging indicators. Just structure, liquidity, and the story the market tells through movement.

This was the turning point.

For the first time, trading made sense.

I began managing my own Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), trading TSX stocks using price action principles. Over time, I developed a structured, visual approach that helped me understand the market with clarity and confidence.

🎯 Why I Built Price Action Atlas

Price Action Atlas is the result of my journey — the mistakes, the lessons, the breakthroughs, and the clarity I found through price action.

I built this platform to help traders:

  • Understand market structure
  • Read price without relying on indicators
  • Learn visually and intuitively
  • Avoid the mistakes I made early in my journey
  • Build confidence through clarity

My mission is simple:

To provide clean, structured, visual education that empowers traders to understand the market — not chase it.

If my experience can help someone find clarity faster than I did, then this platform has served its purpose.

My Trading Philosophy

Trading is not about predicting the future — it’s about understanding the present. Over the years, through experience, mistakes, and continuous learning, I’ve developed a trading philosophy grounded in clarity, structure, and discipline.

Below are the core principles that guide every decision I make in the market.

📉 1. Price Is the Final Truth

Indicators can lag, opinions can mislead, and news can distract — but price always tells the truth. I focus on the raw interaction between buyers and sellers because that’s where the real story unfolds.

🧱 2. Structure Comes Before Strategy

Before thinking about entries or setups, I study:

  • Trend direction
  • Market structure
  • Liquidity zones
  • Reaction points

Understanding where the market is in its cycle is more important than finding a “signal.”

🔍 3. Clarity Over Complexity

The market is already complex — your approach shouldn’t be. I avoid cluttered charts and unnecessary tools. Clean charts lead to clean decisions.

🕰️ 4. Patience Is a Position

Most mistakes come from acting too quickly. I wait for price to come to my levels, not the other way around. No setup is also a valid outcome.

📊 5. Context Is Everything

A candle means nothing without context. A level means nothing without structure. A pattern means nothing without liquidity.

I always ask: “What is the market trying to accomplish here?”

🛡️ 6. Risk Management Is Non‑Negotiable

Trading is not about being right — it’s about staying in the game. I protect capital first, seek opportunity second.

🔄 7. Continuous Learning Never Ends

Markets evolve. Patterns shift. Behavior changes.

I treat trading as a lifelong craft — something to refine, study, and improve over time.

🎯 8. Trade What You Understand

I only trade setups, structures, and behaviors I fully understand. If something feels unclear, I stay out. Confidence comes from clarity, not hope.

How This Philosophy Shapes Price Action Atlas

Everything I teach — from Market Structure to Liquidity to Reaction Zones — comes from these principles. My goal is to help traders:

  • See the market clearly
  • Understand price behavior
  • Build confidence through structure
  • Trade with intention, not impulse

This philosophy is the foundation of every lesson, every chart breakdown, and every insight on this site.
